Welcome!

If you're reading this you are probably already familiar with the OneLapCamaro. We've created this blog as a test of sorts to see how we can best share our experiences in testing and racing on the web. I hope that by the time we run in the One Lap of America in April of 2010 that we will have 'dialed in' this blog as well as the car. Please feel free to let us know your thoughts on the blog - its format, it layout, and its functionality - so that we can make the most of it next spring.

SSCC Day 3 - Race Day

0645H - Lane's Truck Stop, Lund, NV

Pre-Grid at Lane's Truck Stop

38 miles south of Ely we've topped up with race fuel and are on the pre-grid where all 135+ cars sort themselves out before a final drive to the grid area at the starting line.  The cruise down was uneventful and a nice way to warm everything up and sort through some last minute strategy with Jimi.

Final Grid - Highway 318

After a short drive from Lane's Truck Stop we're gridded on Highway 318 waiting for our turn down Highway 318.  Nothing to do now but finalize our plan and put on our safety gear.

Our strategy is to run the first 2/3 of the race 'fast' and bank some time before hitting the narrows where we'll slow down to just under 100 mph before finishing the last 10 miles right on our target time of 115 mph.
